Train Hard. Compete Boldly. Build Resilience.

Impact Oakland’s boxing program is designed for athletes aiming to compete at a high level, as well as those looking to improve their fitness and boxing skills. Our competitive track offers focused, intense training in technique, conditioning, and sparring, providing participants with the tools they need to succeed in amateur boxing. Coaches work closely with athletes to develop the discipline, mental toughness, and ring strategy necessary to perform at their best. For those who aren’t interested in competition, the program also provides a welcoming environment for fitness-focused individuals, offering a variety of training options to improve boxing technique, build strength, and relieve stress. Whether you're training for a fight or just looking to get in better shape, Impact Oakland is a place where people of all backgrounds come together to challenge themselves and grow, both physically and mentally.

Impact Oakland’s competition boxers regularly participate in local, regional, and national competitions and tournaments, providing invaluable opportunities to showcase their skills and hard work. These events allow our athletes to test themselves against boxers from other clubs, both nearby and across the country, fostering a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Competing builds confidence, sharpens focus, and enhances problem-solving skills under pressure, helping athletes grow both inside and outside the ring. The experience of stepping into competition teaches perseverance, resilience, and the ability to overcome challenges—qualities that extend far beyond boxing and positively impact every area of life. At Impact Oakland, we believe competition is more than just winning—it’s about learning, growing, and building the skills and character that set the stage for success in every area of life.

Impact Oakland’s partnership with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes adds a powerful dimension to the boxing experience, offering faith-based, opt-in opportunities. FCA provides a unique space for boxers to connect on a deeper level, fostering unity and purpose beyond the gym.

Impact Oakland is a registered club with USA Boxing, the national governing body for the sport of amateur boxing in the United States. This means our program adheres to the rules and standards set by USA Boxing, providing athletes with the opportunity to compete in sanctioned events and tournaments at the local, regional, and national levels. As a USA Boxing club, we ensure that our training, safety protocols, and competitive pathways are aligned with the highest standards of the sport.

Focused Coaching in a Safe, Supportive Environment

USA Boxing Certified

All of our coaches are certified through USA Boxing, starting with the Green-Level Certification as the basic requirement. This ensures they are trained in safety, ethical conduct, and technical coaching standards, providing athletes with a secure and professional environment. Several of our coaches have advanced to Bronze-Level Certification, trained by national experts, demonstrating their dedication to delivering high-quality coaching and mentorship.

First Aid & CPR Trained

Our coaches are trained in First Aid and CPR, equipping them to respond quickly and confidently in emergencies. These qualifications are especially important in boxing, where the physical intensity of the sport can lead to injuries. Coaches are prepared to handle everything from minor cuts to more serious incidents, ensuring immediate and effective care. By emphasizing safety and preparedness, we safeguard our athletes' physical well-being while fostering an environment built on trust and professionalism. This commitment ensures that our athletes can train and compete in a secure setting, providing both participants and their families with peace of mind.

3D Coaching Foundation

We use 3D Coaching, a framework that develops athletes in Fundamentals (technical skills), Mindset (mental toughness), and Heart (character and values). All coaches complete foundational training in 3D Coaching, equipping them to mentor athletes in and out of the ring. Coaches in our Fellowship of Christian Athletes partnership can also pursue 360 Degree Coaching Training, an advanced program focused on faith, growth, and community-building.

Safe Sport Trained

Our coaches are required to maintain Safe Sport Training Certification, a program developed by the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee to prevent misconduct in sports. This training educates coaches on identifying and addressing issues like abuse, harassment, and bullying, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for athletes. By prioritizing athlete welfare, Safe Sport Training reinforces our commitment to creating a supportive and secure space for every participant.
